Medical Assistant Certification in Utah
Even though you can lawfully work as a Medical Assistant in Utah with no certificate, to be competitive in the job market most Medical Assistants are certified because most employers typically require certification. The American Medical Association (AMA) accepts two certifications for medical assistants, the CMA or Certified Medical Assistant and the RMA – Registered Medical Assistant. Obtaining either certificate will greatly enhance your occupation opportunities and earnings.
The AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants is the association that offers the certification giving CMA credentials. To obtain a RMA certification, you must complete the certification process offered by American Medical Technologists (AMT). The chart below lists the requirements needed for each of the RMA and CMA certifications.
